My still life paintings transform familiar everyday objects into subjects of quiet contemplation. Bowls, vessels, flowers, fruit and other simple forms are arranged to explore relationships of mass, color, light and space. Through thick, gestural brushwork, earthy tones and selective contrasts, I move beyond literal representation toward a more expressive interpretation of the objects. The simplicity of the subject allows the painting itself—the texture, colour and rhythm of the brushstrokes—to become an essential part of the experience.
